IELTS WRITING TASK 02 (Problem-Solution)

 Question:

An increasing number of professionals, such as doctor and teachers, are leaving their own poorer countries to work in developed countries. What problems does this cause? What can be done to deal with this situation?

Model Answer:

A huge amount of people who are engaged with high-profile jobs like doctors, teachers, engineers etcetera are departing from their under-developing countries to give service in the other developed countries. If it continues, the overall progress of those poorer countries will be obstructed and there will be a big deficiency in tax collection. The governments of the impoverished countries should take effective measures to retain attention of its eligible professionals. At the same time, the professionals should be rewarded for their work.

It is noteworthy that doctors, teachers, engineers, and other talented professionals have a deep-rooted tendency to leave their countries as their countries are economically undeveloped and cannot offer them an honourable and luxurious life which they deserve. Several problems can emerge due to this attitude. To begin with, the other people of those unimproved countries who require the help of these professionals to ameliorate their life condition will lag behind because nobody will be left to guide them. As the competent citizens cannot resist the fascination of leading a glittered life, the improvement of the whole nation will be halted. Moreover, if every qualified professional dreams to leave their country and fulfils this dream, a tremendous chasm will be created in the economy sector since the amount of tax will be decreased. As a result, the government of a poor country will not be able to contribute to the advancement of its nation. For example, a recent study of a Canadian university has shown that the administrative figures of the non-developed countries cannot find any light of hope to make any further progress due to the financial decline. 80% of the total population who were engaged with prestigious professions have already left their motherlands for a better life and the amount of tax has become scanty.  These are the problems which can be caused due to the migration of the respectable professionals.

To reverse the trend of leaving one's country, several measures can be adopted. To embark on, the professionals should be given more and more facilities and high remuneration to feel interested in working their own countries. In addition, they must be given monthly or yearly awards as an emblem of encouragement. To demonstrate, an article published by The Daily News in 2021 showed that the professional people who have been rewarded with various types of incentives have less tendency to settle in the other facilitated countries. These are the solutions which can be adopted to gain the trust and attention of the professionals so that they cannot abandon their countries.

Highly dignified professionals have an aptitude to spend life in the developed countries. If this mindset is not changed, the poorer countries can never expect to prosper since there will be nobody to contribute to the development of the other people and increment of tax. To solve this problem, they must be provided with broadened working facilities and tokens of appreciation to make them believe that how much they are required in their own lands.
