 Question:

Nowadays, the way many people interact with each other has changed because of technology. In what ways has technology affected the types of relationship people make? Has this become a positive or negative development?

Model Answer:

In this modern era, technology plays a vital role in our life. It has redirected the way of interaction. In this essay, I will show how technology has left its influence on human relationships and why it is completely a negative development.

Nowadays, people are just a tap away from their near and dear ones because of technological advancements. No similarities can be found between the old scenario and the present one. In the past, people had to go through a long-awaiting phase to see their long-distant relatives and friends or get a reply of the letters from those relatives and friends.  Besides, they met only on special occasions such as, fairs, festivals etcetera. It is also noticeable that people built up relationships with those who belonged to the same bloodline. Moreover, they made friendships with those whom they knew very well. To illustrate, a recent study has shown that people made relationships within a certain domain in the past and cherished all the relationships with great care. They always maintained a strong bonding of love, affection, and sympathy. From this discussion, the radical changes in communication between the past and the present is conspicuous.

The whole scenario has been changed with the course of time. Technological devices, the internet, and the other online platforms. work as an ample facade to make connections with the entire world. People can make friends from different communities and stay connected to their own relatives through video and audio calls  all the time. Apparently, it may seem to be a blessing. However, it has many adverse effects. To begin with, the motley world of technology steals the appeal of making physical communications. People tend to make virtual  conversations all the time. In this way, emotions and feelings which are the fundamental foundations of a relationship are shaken. Furthermore, unverified relationships on the internet can make people victim of ragging and bullying. For example, a statistics of 2021 showed that 35% college-going girls in China committed suicide due to virtual bullying and the proliferation of online threat was regarded as the biggest reason of frustration among the juveniles of the country in that year.  These are the reasons why tech-based communication is considered as an absolute negative development. 

This essay has represented how the digital system of communication of the modern century  has made relationships available which is deadening the sense of cordiality in a relationship. This mode of communication is surrounded by an orb of negativity since it is paving the away the path of cyber crime and obstructing the overall physical and mental development of people, especially of the youngsters.
