20 Super Interesting Organ Idioms:

* To keep one's chin up=to stay positive

Example: You should not lose your spirit in the face of danger. You have to keep your chin up.

* To have itchy feet=to move a lot

Example: Punam has itchy feet because she frequently makes trips around the world.

* Lips are sealed=to keep something secret 

Example: I can't break her trust by disclosing the truth. In that case, I have to keep my lips sealed.

*  To give someone a hand=to help someone.

Example: I'll move to another city. Will you give me a hand?

* Head over heels=to be in complete love with someone.

Example: John feels head over for Jenny.

*  To give someone a cold shoulder= to avoid someone.

Example: Why are you giving me a cold shoulder? Don't you like me?

* To let one's hair down=to feel relaxed

Example: Your weekend is imminent. You should let your hair down.

* To feel down the mouth= to be frustrated

Example: We should not feel down the mouth for this silly matter.

* Skin and bones=to be very thin

Example: You are truly skin and bones. You should eat more.

* Eye-catching=attractive/fascinating

Example: Would you mind tell us the secret of your eye-catching performances?

* Like pulling teeth=very difficult

Example: Waking up early during the Winter is like pulling teeth.

* To make one's blood boil=to make someone angry

Example: Please don't make my blood boil. I'm already distressed enough.

* To sit on hands=to do nothing about a problem that needs dealing with

Example: You have cut a poor figure in the exam. Still, you are not taking any effective measures. How can you sit on your hands in such a situation?

* To chance arm=to take risk

I won't be able to gain anything if I don't chance my arm.

* Pain in the neck= an irritating person

Example: I want to get rid of this pain in the neck.

* To pick someone's brain= to talk to someone to get important information

Example: You have to pick your friends' brain if you want to get important academic information.

* Head and shoulders above=to feel much better than before.

Example:  I am feeling head and shoulders above today.

*Long arm of the law=the power of the law

Example: Don't commit any crime. You do not know about the long arm of the law.

* Up to one's neck=to be very busy with work

Example: I'll not be able to meet you tomorrow since I will be up to my neck.

* You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours= to help someone and receive help in return

Example: If Judy scratch my back, I will also scratch Judy's.
